My activities in IEEE and the Instrumentation and Measurement Society have been focused on serving where there is need, always as part of a team of contributors. The significant results include:
· Restructuring of financial reports to enable AdCom to better manage by unit. Implemented financial reporting to the AdCom that separated out investments. This enabled us to react smoothly to financial down-turns.
· Instituted long-range planning processes for Committee success metrics, succession planning, and initiative approvals
· Proposed and founded the Society’s Management Committee which supports the AdCom with tools, meeting structure, new member training, and a SharePoint web site. This makes the Society’s activities transparent and accessible while reducing burdens on the volunteer.
· Created the position of President-Elect so the Society could more fully participate in TAB
· Pushed for expansion in Regions outside our core areas which has resulted in new activities in South America and the Far East · Revamped the Awards process to fully document eligibility, require a competitive selection process, and enhance the desirability of the awards |
